• Removal of BS IV standards: The standards regarding Bharat Stage IV (BS IV) diesel fuel that existed are no longer required.
• Acidity and inorganic specifications removed: The requirement to test for acidity and inorganic materials has been removed.
• Lubricity measurement revised: The measurement is now only the worn scar diameter (wsd) and not the corrected wear scar diameter (wsd 1.4).
• New limit for chlorinated compounds: A new limit is introduced for chlorinated compounds in diesel fuel.
