The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has extended the filing date for Annual Returns (AR) of PIBOs and PWPs registered during the FY 2022-23. The new date was set for September 01, 2024. In addition, the due date to submit Annual Returns for FY 2023-24 has also been advanced to November 30, 2024.
An extension of this type would help PIBOs and PWPs conveniently file annual returns by Extended Producer Responsibility guidelines, coupled with the environmentally sound management of plastic packaging waste. CPCB has re-emphasized the importance of reporting being made in a timely and accurate manner to allow for effective monitoring and management of plastic waste.
PIBOs and PWPs have also been mandated to file their annual return with regard to the quantity of plastic packaging waste processed along with the corresponding certificates issued under the EPR. Extended deadlines, consequently, are expected to assist organizations more in the management of reporting obligations and also contribute to plastic pollution reduction.
