• The license number has, therefore, to be produced before the authorities while importing any product into India.
• The measure of alphabet, letters, and digits should be by provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Regulation, 2011, relating to Packaging and Labelling.
• Thus, the display of the FSSAI logo and license number on the food products would signify that the FBO has a valid license by the provisions of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006.
• The license number on the food premises shall be specified/addressed by different units of FBOs.
• The FBOs shall display Food Safety Display Boards at their premises having the license number and color code for different sectors.
• The logo and license number shall be displayed on the product by FBOs till the validity of their license under FSSAI—a maximum of up to five years.
• The FBOs shall renew its FSSAI license online within 180 days before the expiry period and after its renewal display the logo with a license number.
• Every food business must mention the FSSAI license number at the top in purchase invoices, cash receipts, bills, cash memos, etc. This means mentioning the FSSAI license number on the GST E-way bills and other system-generated government documents is not required.
